The fork in the road...
As a therapist, it is critical for me to fully understand a client's needs in order to choose and provide the most effective therapeutic approach possible to help meet those needs. In my work, I have found that two predominant approaches have worked most effectively for the majority of clients that I have served: a solution-focused approach and/or a cognitive-behavioural therapeutic approach. More often than not, I work with a combination of the two.
